Songwriting Workshop

Your soul is the portal for music. What song(s) does your soul want to bring forth? Songs can be anchors and crowns, friends and allies, lifelines and dreams, refuge and escape…and so much more! Songs come from many different places and we create them for many different reasons. In this 6week class, we will explore our soul’s calling- what does your soul want to sing?

Whether you’ve written a thousand songs or have never written before, Lisa and Natalia will guide you through prompts and exercises, inspirational examples and lots of listening (to songs and each other!) in a safe environment to explore your soul’s infinite expression.

More about the teachers:

Natalia Zukerman is an innovative musician, painter, and educator. Her open creativity leads individuals to paths of self-discovery. A finalist in both the Rocky Mountain and Telluride festival songwriting competitions, she records, writes, and tours with artists including Susan Werner, Janis Ian, Willy Porter, Erin McKeown, and Zoe Lewis. Natalia has taught songwriting privately, at music festivals such as Sisters Song and Arts Academy, and at the Interlochen Arts and Music Academy. Whether you have been writing songs for years, dabble occasionally for fun, or have never written a song before and would like to learn more about the process, Natalia will help you design an approach to music making that is about deep, respectful listening, safe inner traveling, and above all, boundless joy.
